Pampas Grass
Pampas grass is a fall game changer. Funny thing – using it was actually my mom’s idea. She came to visit me last year and I asked her to make me a wreath so she went out in my yard and cut some pampas grass. Immediately, I was in LOVE!! It was one of the most beautiful wreaths I’ve ever seen. She cut a few extra stems for me to add into my fall decor decor to blend in the look. I love that it’s neutral yet fluffy! I’ve recently learned it comes in several pretty shades of cream. That creamy neutral just blends with any Autumn color. Honestly you…

Old Fashioned Carrot Cake – Easter Dessert
It’s the week of Easter and I love being festive! This carrot cake was inspired from a recipe out of an old church cookbook, a phone call to my momma, and a little of what I know! This cake is a little old fashioned. JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT! I wanted it to look like something your great aunt or grandma would bring to an Easter dinner. The bunt shape and pecan icing really achieve that look! What you’ll need: CAKE 2 cups sifted flour 2 cups light brown sugar 1.5 sticks of butter (room temperature) 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 1/4 teaspoon…

Valentine’s Dinner – Party of 6
Whether you’re among 10 people or 2, it’s a day to celebrate love! Tablescapes are so fun for me to put together. So why not do a big table for 6 to celebrate! For this tablescape I tried to use items I already had! I did purchase a few things like the peachy pink runner and jug holding the rose wine! Both of those were thrift finds though! Local thrift stores are a great place to go when shopping for a tablescape. My inspiration for this table came from all the “fun romantic” feels! That’s why I used lots of lace layers, many roses and pink dishes! The cotton candy…

Princess Movies and Pink Snacks – Valentine’s
Who doesn’t love a movie day with a marble tray full of PINK & RED snacks?! I know me and my lil sis sure do. It’s always a joy to have my 11 year old sister, Kelbee, around. I try to make things extra special for her so we came up with this little idea to go along with our Disney princess movie watching day. IT’S PERFECT FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR! This whole saga began with a trip to the grocery store! Kelbee and I walked the aisles looking for fun bright snacks that are pink and red. I think part of the fun was picking and planning the…

Easy Christmas Bedroom
I’m a little late in the season but let’s be honest, it’s never too late for extra Christmas cheer! I added some extra cozy glow to our bedroom this December! We have an old mantel in our bedroom. It’s one of my favorite spaces to style. I just added some sparkly leftover garland and trees. I added some garland galore and fairy lights above the bed! I love using multiple shapes and colors of garland. It can be so fun! This is our first Christmas to have a tree in our room! I’ve so enjoyed reading books with the cozy glow! I put the tree in a basket to add texture! We’re…

Fall Tablescape
I love to decorate a table! The centerpiece, the textures and the little details – I love it all! I put together a Fall tablescape for you all. You could use some of these ideas for a cozy Fall dinner or Thanksgiving dinner. Tables are so fun especially when you can use cozy festive elements! I was inspired to use mixed metals and deep jewel tones for this table. Tarnished fall fancy is what I was going for! Something that would be appropriate for Thanksgiving dinner yet you could totally see Harry Potter sitting at it! The runners! I love to start with a runner! For this table I dyed some…

Transitioning Late Summer to Fall
Fall decor is calling me. Truly! It’s not even mid August but my heart craves COZY! It’s okay to blend Summer-y cozy into your home to begin the transition to those autumn tones. Slowly add deeper neutrals. Thats what I did with these vintage mannequins and old paint brushes. Just adding these darker items brought a warmth that’s not out of season, yet will blend nicely into fall. It also brought a bit of cozy to the entire living space. Throw in yellow. Although I’m typically a mostly neutral gal, during the Fall I love to decorate with color. Who doesn’t love those rich autumn tones inspired by nature, right??…
