    Adding Pots DIY Floral Stick

Hi y’all!! Since the weather has warmed up, I’m all in the mood for plants and earthy tones!! Bring me all the ferns, wondering jew plants herbs and terra cotta pots. I said before, I love styling with terra cotta pots. I decide to spruce up the DIY Florals on a Stick in the kitchen & swapped out all of the pinkish tones with small clay pots. You can click HERE to read the original DIY post on this florals stick! Here’s what I did! 1 – I gathered small terra cotta pots (5 of them). I double checked to make sure they had the water drainage hole. 2 – Next, I…

    Week Vibes

We had such a wonderful week. My little sister Kelbee came to Auburn to spend a few days at our house. We very much enjoy when she’s at our house because she brings a balance to our crazy schedule. For example, 9pm dinners are no longer acceptable when a 10 year old is around. To read a more about Kelbee’s visit click here to check out Nighttime Prayers. Other small highlights this week  • I’ve been reading the Outlander book series by Diana Gabaldon since January. I finished book #4 this week and it was Ahhhhmazing! • I took Tuesday off! It’s extremely rare for me to take a day off..…

    Nighttime Prayers

I’m a firm believer in watching and listening for signs. Throughout life there are many signals that we must listen to in order to navigate our life. For example, I’ve always view sickness (personally) as a sign to my body I MUST slow down. Signs can be both physical and spiritual. We’ve had the joy of keeping my little sister, Kelbee, for a few days. It’s amazing how the most simple innocent words from a 10 year old can make you take about 10 steps back and say WOAH to yourself. My little sister always says her nighttime prayers. (Which I think is commendable of a 10 year old) My…

    Classic Cottage Co. Expansion Recap

Welp, we’ve expanded! The structural logistics took a little longer than expected. For some cray cray reason Aaron and I thought we would be able to finish everything in one day. Everything meaning – put up faux brick, stabilize metal piping & wood beams, style lace canopy, move in new items and (my favorite part) stage merchandise. Haha, I have no clue what we were thinking when we came up with that plan. ? All in all, it worked out and we’re excited to say it the new additional booth is ready!! We’ve already sold from this more rustic style booth. As I’ve said before in a previous blog, this…

    Styling Terra Cotta Pots

I’m writing this blog post as requested, finally!! It’s long over due. As I’ve mentioned in previous blog post, used terra cotta pots are one item I look for while picking. I love how these pots age over time.. especially if someone had previously splashed a little paint on them that has begun to get “chippy” over time. You can also find “faux used pots” at Hobby Lobby.. Wait until they’re 50% off before purchasing though. I’ve been asked how to style these on many occasions. I have several SIMPLE ways of styling them. I’ve used each of these ideas in my own home. 1 – Gathered Pots This is…

Classic Cottage Co. is EXPANDING.. AGAIN!

We’re so excited to officially announce Classic Cottage Co. is expanding for the fourth time. It’s easy to see our location at Angel’s Antique in Opelika, Al is busting out of the seams. Our inventory is still moving as fast as we can with the space we have. Our last expansion at this location was last July. Aaron and I were so proud to have a larger space in a corner location with our custom design. We are now seizing the opportunity to nearly double our amount of floor space by expanding out to the booth directly beside us. In other words, our current booth IS NOT relocating.. only getting bigger! The…

    Before and After French Provincial

As I’ve said many times before, French provincial furniture makes my heart beat a little faster. Anytime I spot it I have to stop my self from shouting out “SOLD”. As a picker this can be really dangerous considering I have to make a profit. A few weeks ago I spotted a beautiful 9 drawer French provincial solid wood dresser. Before shouting “SOLD” I remembered to check the price this time. Yay for me the price was set within my range of buying, fixing and flipping. Immediately, I knew customers would fall in love this this beaut after we were finished with it. Once getting it home, we realized the…

    The $4 Carboy Jug

A few weeks ago, I spotted a vintage 5 gallon carboy jug in a thrift store. It was lying on its side in a glass cabinet (so, it blended in well..) as if it were waiting on me to find it. (or perhaps someone hid it away for next time..) I have a few of these vintage glass jugs throughout my house, but like I said only a “few” because around here they seem to be VERY hard to find for a decent price. I shortly realized the vintage jug did not have a price tag. Aww, darn! We’ll it never hurts to ask, so I took it to the…

    My Vintage Booths in March

Another month has passed so it’s time for a monthly recap for March on my booths. Apparently, many of you are interested in my antique business. (Insert BIG Karlee smile here ☺️) March was a great month for us! Mirrors Sold  I know, how random is that?! We were selling mirrors left and right. Ha, I’m still trying to catch the mirror stock pile up from March. Small, large, rustic and french – a wide variety of mirrors sold all month long. Comparing Springs As I’ve said before Spring of 2017 was painfully slow for us. I mean PAINFULLY!! ?However, so far this Spring we’ve managed to turn the tide…
