Photo Wall Art
What better wall art than pictures of your beautiful family? Whether it’s you and your fur baby or significant other or maybe you’ve got a million grandkids, those beautiful faces are sure to brighten your walls and heart! For a while I sadly got away from using pictures of us as decor in our home. So I decided to make up for that lost time in a big way! Poster size, babe!! Yep, I had poster size pictures of me and Aaron printed! Of course I chose two of my favorite pictures. One of us taken for the GRAM in the garden with my iPhone and the other is a…

New Curtains in the Bedroom
Sometimes a space just needs freshening! Curtains can be the magic to making your space come alive again! For the past few years we’ve had drop cloth curtains in our bedroom. (You can read how to do those here) I’ve loved the “airy” look of drop cloth curtains in our bedroom for the past few years but now I’m wanting to add more warmth and depth. I know “it’s just curtains” but it made such a big difference in our room that I just had to write about it. The pattern on these curtains is subtle and I love that but what really made a statement is something that was actually an…

I Bought a Gold Velvet Chair
I love gold! It’s one of my favorite colors. This old velvet chair was at my local thrift store for $30. SOLDDDDDDD! I originally bought it for my booth but now I’m thinking it has found a home in my home. Gold I love a pop of richness in a home. Gold is a go to color for me. It brings warmth and classiness to a space. If your space is feeling cold, add a bit of gold! Ha, I didn’t mean for that to rhyme! But it’s true!! The tuff and velvet really add charm too! Cleaning the Vintage Chair I gave it a good cleaning with an all…

Our Garden
2020 has been a challenging year for so many. But I can say one good thing came out of it! Our sweet garden. This is my first real garden. Last year, I started with some herbs and hydrangeas and that really built my confidence. This year I went with a full on vegetable garden and lots of flowers. Aaron built us some raised beds (Click HERE to see how you can build some raised beds too!) We had lots of time at home and I had a new hobby and he had a design for the whole space. In the early days of planning our garden, I asked Aaron “where…

Painting the Deck
I painted our deck! I had a lot of questions on how I did it, and let me tell you, it was simple! So, I figured I would round up everything in a blog post. It’s absolutely amazing the difference this afternoon project made. Type of paint I used a paint called Advanced Deckover by Behr. When purchasing this paint you’ll find it comes in different textured finishes. I chose smooth. Color There were lots of beautiful color options. This time I picked Rose Beige. It’s the perfect rosey neutral! Never be afraid of paint colors! It’s just paint! How I painted You might be surprised when I tell ya,…

Aaron’s Burger Tips
Okay ya’ll, it’s Aaron writing this one. And I’m here to tell you that my absolute favorite food in the world is a hamburger. The combination of fresh juicy beef, cheese, vegetables, any toppings or sauces you love, all on a delicious soft bun??? How can that not be the world’s most perfect food??? Let’s get right into it… The Homemade Burger Problem If you’re like me, you have a favorite restaurant where you always order a burger. Somewhere that makes their burgers so thick, so juicy, and so flavorful. But then when you try to make a burger like that at home, you get a chewy, dry patty…

Mantel Refresh
Finally… finally! We were able to hang a picture on our mantel. It’s been a struggle to figure out how to hang anything from this faux stone. But Aaron figured out a way! After nearly 6 years of daydreaming about what I could hang on this stone, I decided to hang an old pasture print. I love the detail of the gold frame against the white stone. It makes for an awesome contrast. Honestly, the picture is a bit small for this space, so I needed something to fill it in! So I went outside and clipped a large branch from a tree in our yard and put it in the extra…

DIY Raised Garden Bed
Spring is officially here! I’m starting to get in garden mode! Last year I kept herbs, roses and hydrangeas alive. This year I’m gonna try added a vegetable garden to that list! Last weekend Aaron made this sweet raised bed for my vegetable garden. I’m SO excited to get to planting! What we used: Materials: 6′ Cedar Dog-Ear Fence Boards Home Depot Cedar Fence Pickets For the sides and the top lip, we used cedar dog-ear fence boards. Cedar is the perfect wood to build raised beds out of because it’s naturally resistant to moisture, rot, and insects. It’s sure to last many years. Cedar can be pretty pricey though,…
