Simple, Sweet and Neat – Coffee Jars

Simple, sweet and oh so neat! We needed to make our little coffee situation both functional and eye appealing. So I went for my favorite glass canisters to keep our coffee area tidy! Aaron and I like different flavors of coffee so one jar (the biggest) is for his coffee and the other is mine. For months we’ve been keeping the Folger’s containers under the counter. Having thear glass canisters enables us to keep our coffee nearby yet look cute! Ha, these containers also serve as decor because they look cute! The older I become the more I look for decor to serve or be able to serve a functional use. That’s…

    Classic Cottage Online

Yep, we’re now offering an online store. Y’all, I can’t express how excited/nervous I am to have this online store. We’ve had countless requests over the past year to list items online. Aaron and I have been working on to set it up here and there during brief moments between our hustle since early Spring. Last Tuesday on the way to our friend’s house for dinner, we pressed the “go live” button and launched Classic Cottage Online. Yep, we were in the truck for this magical moment. Ha, there’s no time like the present time. We began with one single item. Within minutes 5 people had it in their cart. Less…

    My Vintage Booths in August

August flew by! Literally it’s hard for me to remember details of the month because it didn’t last very long. Okay, let’s see what details I can share! Student Rush I’ve mentioned before we live in a college town – War Eagle! I thought the student rush was over (My mistake). It was a Saturday morning and we had just finished picking. We were taking a load of furniture into the store and I was hit with an open college student floodgate! As Aaron was taking it off the truck, I was writing price tickets and handing them to parents. There were SO many college kids! Slow Days Then we…

    Fall Decor Inspo

So pumpkin spice latte came out yesterday & that can only mean one thing – Fall will be here soon. This year I’m switching up the Fall decor in our home. However, I really enjoyed my white pumpkin vibe last year so I figured I would share them with you all again just in case you’re needing a little inspo and are digging the white pumpkin vibe. I so enjoyed my Fall Mantel last year. I used different tones of green with neutrals. Also, some sweet terra cotta pots! Fun times!! The dining room had some fun fall vibes last year too. I used a large dough bowl with a striped table…

    My Recent Reads

If you’ve been reading my posts for any length of time, chances are you already know I LOVE to READ! I also love discussing books I’ve read. So here’s a few books I’ve read recently and LOVED!!! I have recently hit a book jackpot or so it seems. A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander) So 2018 has been the year of Karlee being addicted to the Outlander series by Diana Galbaldon. These are big books that you won’t be able to put down. It’s historical fiction that will have you emotionally attached to characters. A Breath of Snow and Ashes was the 6th book in this series and I’ll…

    Bookshelf Refresh

Do you ever get in a mid season decor slump? I know I do. Then I begin to over complicate things.. Next thing I know I want to 100% change EVERYTHING in the house. This results in me becoming discouraged because; who can really actually change everything in a house? Absolutely defeated. Honestly, it really doesn’t have to be that complicated. A few weeks ago I wanted to change up these shelves as a little mid-end Summer refresh. I actually kept it simple this time and enjoyed the process! I started off by clearing the shelves. Less is more was the goal for me. Reason – because now’s my chance..…

    Our Beach Vacation Recap

Feeling refreshed, motivated and ready to take on the WORLD! Ha, it’s amazing what a little R&R can do. Aaron and I really enjoyed our trip to Orange Beach, Al. Some people have asked what we did while we were there and the answer is sit by the water with books and shades. (Thank the Lord I married someone who loves to read while on vacation) I read The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager and it was a good beach read( (if you like phycological thrillers).   Aaron and I visit the same vacation towns over and over and we also eat at the same places in those towns…

    My Vintage Booths in July

Wow, I can’t believe we’re already in August. Kids are already going back to school and Summer feels like it’s slowing down. Despite customers being on vacation and buying school supplies, July was a good month for Classic Cottage Co. Let me give you a little recap on the whole month! Side Tables Sold Possibly because we live in a college town and students are gathering dorm items, side tables/nightstands didn’t last longer than a day after dropping them off. Woohoo!! I was glad to see them go! Chandelier Shock Total shocker. I found two BEAUTIFUL chandeliers (priced low enough) while picking this month. Woah! This never happens. Like seriously…

4 Items I’m Already Hunting for Fall Decor

Yep, I’m already thinking Fall.  A few weeks ago we planted pumpkin seeds. Fingers are crossed that they’ll grow to be beautiful plump pumpkins. We planted the seeds in hopes of saving $$ on pumpkins since I decorate with so many during the Fall. Anyways, here’s four items I’m hunting for NOW while browsing shops, antique stores and thrift stores for Fall. 1 – Copper Tones Copper is one of Aaron’s favorites so I try to use it throughout our home. I think copper is especially nice for Fall. I’ve already collected a few items I plan to use in the upcoming months. 2- Cute Little White Faux Pumpkins While…

    Beautiful Antique Set

Does anyone else love gorgeous antiques with stunning detail? This. Girl. Does. I found the most beautiful dresser and chest set. I bought this set for my vintage Business Classic Cottage Co. It was one of the most challenging Classic Cottage projects yet but totally worth it. This set was gorgeous when we found it but needed a little TLC to make it usable again. Aaron spent hours fixing drawers and other little details on each piece. I bought this set in such excitement I didn’t even realize some of the drawers didn’t work properly. Yikes!! Thank goodness Aaron knows a little woodworking! Time for the big transformation. The white paint!!…
