Desk/Before and After
Anyone else love before and after pictures? ☺️ Especially if it’s an antique desk with original hardware??? I found this beautiful desk from a fellow picker friend. He sold the desk to me “as is” and let me tell ya, it needed some love! ? Example- the kinda love you give when you’re scrubbing the inside of drawers with vinegar. ?? BEFORE This desk was my Saturday night project piece. ?? It kept me busy/productive while my husband Aaron worked. When purchasing a piece, I always like to take a step back and decide what it needs.?I envision the piece in someone’s home and how it needs to look.…

Easy Farm Table Centerpiece
No doubt, Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie. Belle is my favorite Disney princess because I totally relate to her nerdiness. ? My brain works in strange ways. The inspiration for this farm table centerpiece actually came from the movie Beauty and the Beast. Inspiration can come through the oddest ways in the world of Karlee. ? My thoughts were to gather items in a basket for a French dinner party. Combine it with a little galvanized farmhouse and “BAM” you’ve got a French farmhouse vignette. Here’s how I did it – I started with the basket. I grabbed my favorite white metal basket, which I found…

Baby Shower Recap (The Decor/Menu Details)
We had a fabulous baby shower for my big sis, Kayla! She is expecting a baby girl, Emersyn Kay, in October!?? Kayla and her husband have seen twenty-five countries during their 20 something years on this earth. ? Since they’re jet setters, we did an “adventure” themed baby shower. What better theme since having a baby is an adventure of a lifetime! For a few weeks, I’ve been on the hunt for globes. I found three all under $15 from local thrift and antique stores. One of these globes we asked the guests to sign with a sharpie! Kayla LOVED this idea!? In the south, it’s not a baby/bridal shower…

The Blog Went Down
Well, my title says it all – The Blog Went Down. I’m sure some of you noticed!! ? I was in the midst of soaking up the weekend when Aaron (my husband) got an alert text from his system monitors that my blog was no longer working. (I’m sure the alert sounded much more technical..) Shortly after Aaron’s notification, I began receiving messages from readers saying they were unable to access my blog. ??? Unfortunately, we were not at a place to get the blog fixed at that very moment. Allow me to explain, we had a truck full of junk from picking for Classic Cottage.??♀️ Ha, and by this point…

Barn Door Bliss
Last weekend we had a homeowner catastrophe. ? It happens to every homeowner, right? Especially those with nearly 100 year old homes! Saturday – We spent nearly the entire day working on Classic Cottage. Our plan was to work my vintage mini shop on Saturday then continue building the chicken coop on Sunday. Well, Saturday night I need to get in our garage/shed building. The garage door was very old and not well made. In fact, Aaron had to turn into The Hulk to open the dang door. ?? (I couldn’t open it at all.??) Somehow the door slid off the track and completely fell into Aaron’s arms. Plain and…

Summer Mantel on a Budget
The fireplace mantel is one space I love to swap up with each season – Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. It was time to add a little something for Summer. As always, I like to thrift, thrift, thrift then splurge (a little). ? So, basically I thrift so I can splurge on that one special piece! Let’s get to it! Here how I styled my Summer Mantel. I layered! Months ago I found the large vintage chalkboard at a local antique store for $10. So far, I’ve used it as an extra layer for each season. For this particular style I turned it vertical. The large antique wooden frame was…
