My Everyday Must Have Clothes from Walmart

You don’t have to spend high dollar amounts on your “must have staple pieces” in your wardrobe. I used to think you did! UNTIL I started buying fashion items from Walmart!  For example, some of my favorite jeans are from the Free Assembly brand at Walmart. They’re a faction of the price I used to pay YET have amazing quality. My favorite ones are only $25. I’m curvy and they fit great! Linked below!! You don’t have to spend much to have a great pair of JEANS! Speaking of Free Assembly, they have thousands of markdowns right now!  I learned earlier this year that Walmart is THE PLACE for swimwear.…

    Chicken Spaghetti

This recipe is a family classic on my dad’s side. Every time we would visit my Poppa and Nonna growing up they would have this chicken spaghetti cooking. Nothing like the smell of chicken spaghetti on the stovetop! Here’s my (slightly different) take on my Poppa’s classic. What You’ll Need: 1 stick of butter  2 cans diced tomatoes  1/2 cup green bell pepper  1/2 tsp onion powder  1/4 tsp garlic powder  1 tsp parsley flakes  1 jar sliced mushrooms  2lb boiled & shredded chicken  (About) 2 cups chicken broth (personally I use the broth that I boiled the chicken in)  1/2 tsp salt  What You’ll Do: Add all ingredients in…

    5 Tips for Styling a Cabinet/Shelf

Basics of Cabinet I bought this cabinet at a local thrift store almost a year ago. I paid $350. It’s handmade and approximately 10 feet tall. It’s huge!  Finally I painted it. I used the color Bellwood by Fusion Mineral Paint. It took two 16.9oz jars to complete this paint project. To protect the paint I added a coat of tough coat on top of the paint. This step basically made a hard shell over the paint to protect it. I was very impressed by this product!  Next I changed out the hardware! Changing hardware on a piece can really make such a big impact! (Tip – to change out hardware, open…

Breakfast Nook Decor & Steps for Styling a Space

We finally decorated our breakfast nook, and I’ve been so excited to share it with you all! We designed this small yet charming room ourselves with dreamy picture windows and vaulted ceiling. One of my favorite things about the space is the sunlight that shines through, especially during the late afternoon and early evening. It’s the perfect spot to come together and eat! I’ve been excited to find the perfect artwork, so while on vacation, we stopped at a quaint antique shop in Mobile, AL and there I found the perfect pair of antique artwork for this space. From that moment on, it all came together! Below I’m listing the four steps I follow for decorating a space…

    Painted Kitchen Cabinet

I had my brand new classic white kitchen cabinets painted. Call me crazy for painting brand new cabinets, but I LOVE them painted! Last year we remodeled our over 100 year old home. There were so many decisions to be made and a tight timeline so I picked a safe option. Classic white. Over the past twelve months I’ve tried to add warmth to our kitchen in several ways. Finally, I decided to do the CRAZY and paint the brand. new. cabinets.  This was not a DIY.. Let me be clear, this was not a DIY for us. I read lots of reviews until I found a local painter with…
