Tomato Pie Recipe

What You’ll Need:

  • 4 Ripe Tomatoes 
  • Salt to Taste
  • Garlic Salt to Taste
  • Ready to go Pie Crust 
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Fresh Basil
  • 2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • Pepper to Taste 
  • 1 Tablespoon Hot Sauce (we used Louisiana)

What You’ll D0:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lay out pie crust in a greased 9″ pie pan
  3. Slice tomatoes 1/4 inch thick
  4. Pat tomatoes dry with napkins or paper towels
  5. Sprinkle garlic salt over tomatoes
  6. Flip over, pat dry other side and add salt (The salt will also help dry out the tomatoes!)
  7. In a bowl combine mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, sour cream, pepper and hot sauce
  8. Lay out tomatoes in pie pan crust
  9. Top tomatoes with fresh basil
  10. Add the mozzarella mixture as the final layer
  11. Bake in oven for 35-40 minutes. The top will begin to bubble and be golden when it’s done!
