I love little traditions like this because they make the season feel extra special.  This is such an easy recipe and beautiful to serve.     l  What You’ll Need: – 1 pound pinto beans rinsed and drained – 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts – 6 cups water – 2 carrots, peeled and sliced – 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning – Garlic Salt to taste – 1 teaspoon onion powder What You’ll Do: 1. Place the rinsed pinto beans, raw chicken breast, and sliced carrots in the crockpot. 2. Add Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and onion powder. 3. Pour the 7 cups of water into the crockpot, covering the ingredients. 4.     Creamy Red, White & Blue Fruit Salad

    I love a fruit salad in the Summer!! This recipe only takes minutes to make. It’s beautiful to serve on the Fourth of July or Memorial Day! And of course DELISH! Here’s how to make it!  What You’ll Need: 1 block cream cheese (room temperature) 8oz cool whip  2 teaspoons vanilla  1.5 cup powdered sugar  16oz marshmallows  1 pound blueberries  1.5 pounds of strawberries (cut)  Pecans (for garninish) What You’ll Do: Beat cream cheese, cool whip, vanilla and powder sugar until smooth. Fold in marshmallows. Gently fold in fruit.  Reserve a bit of the fruit to garnish the top! Or use pecans. Or be like me and use both!

    Tomato Pie Recipe

    What You’ll Need: 4 Ripe Tomatoes  Salt to Taste Garlic Salt to Taste Ready to go Pie Crust  1/4 Cup Chopped Fresh Basil 2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese 1/4 Cup Grated Parmesan 1/2 Cup Sour Cream Pepper to Taste  1 Tablespoon Hot Sauce (we used Louisiana) What You’ll D0: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Lay out pie crust in a greased 9″ pie pan Slice tomatoes 1/4 inch thick Pat tomatoes dry with napkins or paper towels Sprinkle garlic salt over tomatoes Flip over, pat dry other side and add salt (The salt will also help dry out the tomatoes!)     This recipe is a family classic on my dad’s side. Every time we would visit my Poppa and Nonna growing up they would have this chicken spaghetti cooking. Nothing like the smell of chicken spaghetti on the stovetop! Here’s my (slightly different) take on my Poppa’s classic.     Tamale Pie

    What you need: 1lb ground beef cooked and seasoned with taco seasoning 1 can corn 1 can black beans 1 can petite tomatoes 1 cup cheese cornbread What You’ll Do: Cook ground beef, drain and season with taco seasoning. Basically just like you would if you were making tacos. Then place ground beef in a sprayed 12″ cast iron skillet. Next drain your beans, corn and tomatoes and add them on top of the ground beef. Add 1.5 cups of grated cheddar cheese next. Next mis a batch of cornbread following the instructions on the cornbread packaging. Pour the cornbread mixture on top of the layers and bake! Bake the…
