My Adult Busy Bag
Hi! So we’re doing a little Spring travels this weekend. We’re making it a quick combo trip and seeing both Aaron’s family and my sister’s family. From Alabama to Kentucky to Indiana then from Indian back to Alabama – we’ll be spending a lot of hours in the car. Growing up, my mom used to pack us “busy bags” when we went on trips. Ha, now I wonder if a “busy bag” is an actual thing or just something mom made up. Hmmmm, have you ever heard of a busy bag? Well, now as an adult, I still have a busy bag. (I think my sister Kayla does too!) Over…

Our Easter Without Children This Year 2018
Last Easter I wrote a blog called Our Easter Without Children and it was a hit. My blog was still young and boy can you tell!! Since it was a big hit I decided to share our Easter plans for this year. Last year I mentioned how many holidays are centered towards families. If you’re a small family of two, it can really strongly feel as if something is missing… children.. parents.. Aaron and I are very strategic in planning special days. Since we have no children, we indulge in the chocolate bunnies and Cadbury eggs as if we are children! Seriously though, here’s our weekend plans! Good Friday We’ll be attending…

Newest Additions to The Bowman Family
Finally. I’m so proud to say we got chicks over the weekend!! Four adorable baby chicks. (Soon to get more..I’m sure) If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you know last Summer we built a chicken coop. (You can read more about that here!) The chicken coop required more time and money than expected. Isn’t that how projects always go though?? By the time we were finished it was nearly Fall and we had several out of town trips planned, so we held off on getting chickens until NOW! After picking on Saturday, Aaron suggested we go ahead and get a few. The first store we went to was completely out. So…

Our Valentine’s Dinner
Howdy! Annnd Happy Valentine’s Day!! Hope you’re having a special day and you’ve treated yourself to a cherry mocha from Starbucks. ? To avoid the crowds Aaron and I have a tradition of treating ourselves to a nice evening at home with lots of yummy food. ?It’s a night when calories don’t count – sorta like Christmas. We’ll play some romantic classics like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble. (Yes, I now consider Michael Buble a classic) ?Also, I’ll do the honors of lighting every.. single.. candle.. in the house. You probably know by now I LOVE CANDLES! We keep our menu really simple while adding a few “extras” so…

25 life lessons for 25
Today I turn 25. Here’s 25 facts and lessons I’ve learned throughout my years. 1 – “Inch by inch life’s a cinch, yard by yard life’s hard” -Mom (Later realized the quote originally came from John Bytheway. 2 – I can always count on my big sister. 3 – It’s okay to be seen without make up and your hair thrown up in a ponytail. 4 – Babies are cute but the new mommas are the real superheroes. 5 – Seasons change. 6 – Yes, seasons change. However, that only happens four times a year so enjoy the season of life you’re currently in. 7 – When you get heartbreaking bad news, it’s…

Word of 2018
So, I’ve never chose a specific “word” for any year. Honestly, I could never think of just a single word to pattern and inspire for one year. Funny thing, I could easily write a sentence, yet not one single word. So, I just never did. However, this week it hit me. Out of no where in my living room a word came to me. This word is inspiring and connects in some way to every single area of my life. “Invest” During 2018, I want to invest in my life. In me. When this word “invest” came to me, I immediately related it to every aspect of my life –…

Highs & Lows – 2017
We’re about to say farewell to 2017. It’s been an exciting year. I wanted to highlight a few moments in 2017 – business and personal.. family and emotional. Here’s a brief glimpse into my life this year. The Island – High Have I mentioned how sweet my hubby is?? He’s been such a support this year in every aspect of my life – the good, the bad and the ugly nasty! Our island is a huge statement piece in the kitchen. He bought all the materials, designed it (with the help of meeeeee) and built it for my Valentine’s Day gift. We were excited about this home improvement; however, did not…

1- Drink Hot Cocoa We have a little cocoa/coffee station in our kitchen! I grabbed some goodies from Target to make our hot chocolate special. 2 – Read a Christmas Novel The newest Richard Paul Evens book, The Noel Diary is currently on my coffee table. They’re all great. We’ll watch all of these throughout the season. Suggestion – These are fun to watch while wrapping presents!! 4 – Purchase an Ornament for 2017 Each…
