Vintage Clowns
Many of you already know the back story regarding me and vintage clown decor for Halloween. However, for those of you who don’t, I want to share!
I’ve been around antiques my entire life, and I’ve always thought old clowns were a bit creepy! A few months ago, I was walking around an antique mall when these vintage clowns jumped out at me! They’re the perfect colors for our living room and give me that creepy vibe that I love for October 31!! It’s a bit out of the box for sure. Using clowns for decor is brave, even if it is Halloween. In fact, this turned out to be one of the most risky things I’ve shared or done on IG. Some of my audience hated it, and others thought it was awesome. Regardless of the opinions, it started a conversation and I love when decor does that!
These clowns not only give an bit of out of the box “creepy” feel, but they also remind me of those fun carnivals that seem to make an appearance in the fall. I love little vintage items that feel festive.
I was careful not to over do it with the old clowns by simply putting two on a shelf on our built ins. I felt that this was statement enough, don’t you agree? My goal was to add some height and texture, so I styled them on a stack of turned books.
