Pink & Red Closet
We gave our closet a make over!! A closet can often times be an afterthought in a home. I know it has been for us for nearly 10 years. But, good news most of the time, closets are small which means you can make a big impact with very little! A closet can be more than just storage, it can be a canvas to express creativity. What if it could become a luxurious boutique-style retreat that makes choosing your outfit each day a delightful experience? That’s what we did! This pink and red closet is the epitome of how a small space can make a big statement, combining bold design elements with practical organization.
A Mix of Stripes and Florals
I’ve always wanted to use red and pink together in a space. What better way to do that than a red stripe and pink floral. The first thing you notice upon entering this closet is the bold use of color and pattern. The red and white vertical striped wallpaper on the walls immediately draw your eyes upward, making the space feel taller and more expansive. These stripes are more than just a decorative element—they create a sense of drama and sophistication, evoking a Parisian boutique vibe.
On the opposite wall, the vibe takes a soft, romantic turn with a beautiful floral wallpaper mural featuring delicate birds and flowers. We incased the wallpaper mural with trim to add extra detail and to keep the mural within budget. Trimmed out meant we only needed one wallpaper roll. The contrast between the bold stripes and the soft florals creates a fun balance.It’s a perfect blend of vibrant and serene, making the closet feel bold and feminine.
The Power of a Statement Mirror
No boutique-inspired closet is complete without a statement mirror. (I found this one at HomeGoods for less) A big mirror in a closet (if room allows) is completely worth ut! This oversized mirror, with its detailing and antique finish, not only enhances the sense of luxury but also serves a practical purpose. Practical and beautiful is always a magical combo! Positioned strategically to reflect light and the beautiful chandelier above, the mirror makes the closet feel even more spacious while offering the perfect spot to check your outfit from head to toe. Tip – Mirrors always make a space appear larger!!
Chandy in the Closet
Lighting plays a big role in any space, and our closet’s chandelier is the crown jewel of the room. I have glam chandeliers throughout our home, why should the closet be any different? The chandelier’s crystal design casts a soft, flattering glow, adding a touch of glamour. Also, I painted the ceiling a light pink called Yours Truly by Benjamin Moore. The goal was for it to perfectly complements the statement mirror, creating a cohesive look that ties the entire space together. Light fixtures are everything!
Budget Organization
While the design elements are undoubtedly eye-catching, the closet’s functionality is even more import. But that didn’t mean we needed to break the bank to achieve the look. I found this closet system on Amazon and I’m completely happy with it. Aaron, my husband assembled it in minutes! The open shelving and brass hanging rods provide sweet space for displaying clothes, shoes, and accessories in a way that is both organized and aesthetically pleasing. Storage baskets (also from Amazon) add a touch of warmth and practicality, keeping everything neatly tucked away yet easily accessible. A lot of our budget went into the wallpaper so finding an affordable closet system was a win!
